Mole Control
At Ecopest you can rest assured that we will rid you of moles in the most humane and eco-friendly way possible. We use a range of professional traps that dispatch the mole quickly and humanely.
We do not use gassing (phosphine gas) as some pest control companies do as this is often not effective, and it releases nasty chemicals into the environment. We are very skilled in the art of locating and catching moles and are experts at quick, efficient, eradication of mole problems.

Why We Need To Control Moles
Moles are an essential part of our ecosystem, but unfortunately they can cause a lot of safety issues and economic problems for gardeners, farmers, livestock holders, golf course owners, bowling green keepers, livery yards, football pitch managers, and county councils such as Gloucestershire County Council and Wiltshire County Council.
Moles if left unchecked in a garden can destroy lawns and flower beds with molehills springing up everywhere at random.
For farmers and people with small holdings, the soil from molehills can get mixed in with grass at harvest time and the bacteria in the soil can make animal feeds like silage become contaminated with bacteria and become unfit to feed to livestock like cattle and sheep.
Moles also make tunnels just below the surface of the grass (5cm to 20cm) and this often leads to horses and other animals falling into these tunnels and twisting ankles or worse. This can lead to a lot of suffering for these animals and their owners, not to mention the financial implications.

Mole Facts and Identification
The mole is a member of the Insectivora order, and not a rodent as is often believed. You will rarely see a mole, only mounds of earth from their digging, known as molehills. Moles have a cylindrical body which is about 12-16cm long from nose to the tip of its tail, and they weigh around 110g.
Moles are covered in a black velvety coat, have very small eyes, no external ears, very sharp teeth, and spade-like forefeet which they use to dig with. They are found all over the UK but not in Ireland, and survive mainly by eating earthworms, but also slugs and insect larvae.
