Rat Control Services In Gloucestershire

I have been involved in pest control from a very young age, and was controlling rabbit numbers and grey squirrels when I was fifteen years old. I have lived in Gloucestershire for the last 40 years and feel very privileged to have grown up and lived in such a beautiful part of England.

I started Ecpoest because I wanted to run a pest control company with the emphasis on reducing the amount of unnecessary chemicals used to treat pest problems. This includes the treatment of rats, which are becoming immune to rodenticides. The use of rodenticides outside is already illegal and rightly so due to other wildlife that can eat the poison or eat the dead rats, becoming affected by secondary poisoning. This poison gets into the ecosystem and scientists have found alarmingly high levels of the rodenticides in barn owls and other predators of rodents.

However, we still rely on some kinds of chemicals, such as insecticides to treat wasps, for example, but these can be used in an intelligent manner and only powder that has been approved for professionals are used.

The ethos of Ecopest is also to be as humane as possible and to always treat each animal with the respect it deserves and to make the process as painless and quick as possible. These animals are simply trying to survive and are only classed as pests as they are in the wrong place. But human health and safety must be the priority, so if and when pests need to be removed, Ecopest endeavors to do it incorporating these core values.

I am an animal lover and have kept animals all my life, I am also a keen naturalist and deer stalker. I hope to continue to pursue and develop more ecologically sound solutions to pest problems, but I am also realistic and use the best of what we currently have.

I look forward to helping you with your pest problems.
