Terms of Use
These terms and conditions were last updated on 11st September 2025.
1. Scope of Services
- Treatment plan: Ecopest will outline the specific pest(s) to be treated, the planned procedures, and the number of visits required. Some of our services are aimed at full eradication, while others are aimed more at control, especially if the infestation is originating from an external property.
- Commercial contracts: A service contract will be drawn up with the customer, typically including ongoing, scheduled inspections and preventative measures to protect the premises year-round. This particularly applies to food-related businesses.
- No guarantees:Â Ecopest will use reasonable endeavors to eliminate pests but cannot always guarantee total eradication, particularly with complex or ongoing infestations.
2. Customer Obligations
- Access and cooperation: Customers must provide the pest control technicians with free and safe access to all necessary areas of the property at the agreed time. If the customer or a representative is not present, a call-out fee may be charged.
- Preparation:Â Ecopest will require you to complete specific preparatory tasks before treatment. This might include clearing floors, emptying cupboards, and laundering infested items. Failure to complete these steps may result in a cancelled visit and a fee.
- Post-treatment rules: After a treatment, you must follow all safety and treatment instructions, such as staying out of a sprayed area for a specified time and not cleaning treated surfaces. You must not interfere with or move any equipment like traps or bait stations.
- Disclosure of hazards:Â You must inform Ecopest of any known or suspected hazards on the property that could endanger technicians.
3. Payments and Cancellations
Ecopest requires payment in advance of treatment, and we accept cash, card, bank transfer and cheques.
4. Company Liability
- Limitation of liability: Ecopest are typically not responsible for loss of income, damage caused by the pests themselves (before, during, or after treatment), or indirect or consequential losses.
- Property damage: Ecopest will accept liability for foreseeable damage to your property that is directly caused by their negligence but will not cover pre-existing issues.
- Right to refuse service: Ecopest can refuse to treat a property if they deem it unsafe or if the customer has failed to prepare it properly. In such cases, a refund may not be issued.
5. Guarantees and Warranties
Ecopest can offer further attention to pest control problems if issues persist after initial treatment, following discussion with the client.
